About Pat

Educator. Innovator. Entrepreneur.

Builder of “What’s Next?”

Patrick (Pat) Keeney has spent nearly four decades turning ambitious ideas into meaningful results. His career has taken him from high school classrooms to NASA missions, from building multimillion - dollar businesses inside major education companies to launching entrepreneurial ventures of his own.

Through it all, one thing has remained constant: a passion for discovering what's possible - and figuring out how to make it happen.

The Man Behind the Work

The Man Behind the Work

Patrick (Pat) Keeney approaches challenges with a combination of an educator's curiosity, an entrepreneur's imagination, and an operator's insistence on getting things done. He asks difficult questions, questions assumptions, surrounds himself with talented people, and creating environments where creativity and accountability can coexist. He also believes that serious work doesn't have to be joyless, that leadership should create possibilities rather than obstacles, and that the best conversations often begin with a willingness to consider a completely different perspective.

His professional life has been shaped by experiences as a teacher, coach, scientist's collaborator, product developer, executive, mentor, and entrepreneur. While his career has included substantial business growth, innovative products, and successful ventures, Pat is less interested in celebrating what has already been accomplished than in imagining what might come next.

Career Built on Curiosity

Career Built on Curiosity

Pat began his professional journey as a mathematics and physics teacher, where he developed a reputation for challenging conventional thinking and creating opportunities for students. He introduced advanced academic programs, coached, and discovered something that would influence the rest of his career: great ideas only matter when they make a difference in people's lives. That philosophy eventually took him well beyond the classroom.

For a decade, Pat contributed to education and public outreach efforts supporting NASA science missions, helping translate sophisticated scientific concepts into meaningful learning experiences. His work bridged the worlds of scientific discovery, education, and technology.

He subsequently brought that same spirit of innovation to the business world.

Later, as Senior Director of Product Management and Partnerships at McGraw Hill, he led the rebuilding and expansion of its career and technical education portfolio. By assembling talented teams, establishing strategic partnerships, and developing new products, he helped transform a challenging business into a growing and innovative portfolio.

Along the way, Patrick (Pat) Keeney has founded businesses, led product innovation, developed new markets, and worked with organizations ranging from emerging ventures to some of the most recognizable names in education.

Today, as founder of Marshmallow Lodge LLC and Plan2Impact Learning Partners, he works at the intersection of business strategy, education, workforce development, emerging technologies, and entrepreneurship.

Increasingly, his attention is focused on the transformative potential of artificial intelligence - not simply as a technological advancement, but as an opportunity to rethink how people learn, work, create, and solve problems.
